Their brain engages with words differently.  For example, words to children with Dyslexia see the letters backward or even scattered. For children to succeed in the classroom with Dyslexia here are some helpful strategies to include them in daily activities.  The last thing children want to feel is left out throughout the school day. Students should be encouraged to complete their daily tasks.

  • Set up the daily schedule with pictures for students to follow along.

  • More time for reading and writing activities

  • Use audio books for students to follow along and then give an oral book report about the story.

  • Read a book during group time and have a class discussion.

  • Provide worksheets with answers that the students have either color in the correct answer or circle it.

  • Have students present their work in various ways i.e. oral, video, and art.
